The Center for the Arts OnTheGo Presents: Tyler Rich with Temecula Road Opening

Singer/songwriter Tyler Rich returns to his Grass Valley for a concert of original country music at Foothills Events Center in downtown Grass Valley on Friday, August 23 as part of The Center for the Arts OnTheGo series. Opening the show will be the trio Temecula Road.

Raised in Yuba City, Tyler Rich found his love of music gathered around a Christmas tree alongside family singing holiday classics and family favorites of all genres including Creedence Clearwater Revival, Michael Jackson, The Beatles and Tom Petty. At age 8 his cousin introduced him to the Country sounds of George Strait, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson before his grandparents surprised a then 14-year-old with a guitar so he could join in the annual jams.

Fast forward to graduating college with a degree in Economics, Tyler moved to LA to pursue a different game of numbers – music – exploring various genres with songwriting and bands before taking the leap as a solo artist. His fanbase has grown supporting his independent release to signing a record deal and publishing agreement. While introducing his amplified sound and infectious energy coast to coast, the 2018 CMT Listen Up Artist has moved to Nashville and become a road warrior performing alongside some of the genre’s top acts including Dustin Lynch, Sam Hunt, Brett Eldredge, Justin Moore, Cole Swindell, Dan + Shay.

His most recent release “The Difference” is his long-awaited introduction to Country radio – a moment he’s been working towards since first playing various genres with his band in high school. The single “Leave Her Wild” released on May 13 is noted by NY Country Swag as “Rich beautifully articulates the importance of always remembering the little things you loved about your person, and to always allow he or she to stay true to themselves.” Tyler shares “’Leave Her Wild’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written, and I’m so excited to get to share it with the world! I wrote this song about truly loving somebody for who they are and not trying to change them. If you’re gonna love her … leave her wild.”

Growing up around all styles of music – the first four songs Tyler learned on guitar were Ben E. King’s “Stand My Me,” Garth Brooks’ “Friends In Low Places” and songs from Blink 182 and Metallica – he was comfortable in multiple genres, which led to years of covering songs and writing Pop songs. But when given the opportunity four years ago to be a solo artist he knew it was finally time to explore his Country side.

Tyler began testing his Country music chops online where he gained a huge following. One of his biggest fans included another hot Country newcomer, Dustin Lynch, who saw him singing his hit song “Mind Reader” on Instagram before inviting Tyler to Nashville for a meeting. That lead Tyler to a management deal and the momentum hasn’t stopped.

Opening the show will be the trio Temecula Road. Called out by The Huffington Post as one of the top new country artists to watch and named after the town they grew up in, Temecula Road, comprised of sisters Emma, 18, and Maddie Salute, 17, and longtime friend Dawson Anderson, 18, are known for their trademark harmonies and their covers which have earned praise from Carrie Underwood, Brett Eldredge, Dan + Shay and RaeLynn.

These days, it’s their original songs that are putting them on the map. Their first two singles “What If I Kissed You” and “Hoping” already have over a million streams on Spotify and the trio just released their new single “Everything Without You.”

This year saw Temecula Road make debut performances at C2C’s Country Music Festival in London, Stagecoarch Music Festival and the CMA Music Festival. Earlier this year, the band was named one of Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing artists and were nominated in the “The Freshest! – Radio Disney Country Best New Artist” category at this year’s Radio Disney Music Awards, putting them in great company alongside Maren Morris, Lauren Alaina and Old Dominion.

On the touring side, Temecula Road have opened for Martina McBride, Josh Turner, Joe Nichols, Easton Corbin, Lee Brice, Sara Evans, Kenny Rogers, and Eli Young Band.
