Once again another perfect summer will come to a close with the hugely anticipated, fun-filled, four-day weekend that is the Nevada City Film Festival. The 11th Annual Nevada City Film Festival presented by AJA Video Systems, will run Thursday, August 18 through Sunday, August 21, 2011 in historic downtown Nevada City, CA. This year, over 60 films – both short and full length independent dramas, comedies, documentaries and animation films from around the world – will screen in beautiful art house theatres and charming historic buildings.
In addition to screening award-winning films, the Nevada City Film Festival Comedy Show returns this year with the wickedly funny DJ Douggpound (Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!), Brent Weinbach (Lopez Tonight, Comedy Central, FunnyOrDie.com), Brendan Walsh (Conan, Jimmy Kimmel, HBO), Eric Andre (Lopez, Comedy Central), and Chelsea Peretti (Sarah Silverman, Adult Swim, Comedy Central, and Parks and Recreation). Local comedy group Best Friends Club will open the show.
NCFF began as a film festival created by filmmakers for filmmakers. Since 2001, NCFF has brought top independent cinema to the foothills of Northern California. Combining stellar programming of short and full length films, great audiences and a truly festive environment makes NCFF one of the most innovative, exciting, and fun events on the left coast.
