Stories from Ghana – Photography & Writing by Olivia Johansen

The Center for the Arts presents Stories from Ghana, a photography and writing exhibition by Olivia Johansen as a part of The Center OnTheGo Series. Johansen is a professional photographer born and raised in Nevada County. She recently returned from serving in the Peace Corps in Ghana where she primarily worked with rural cashew farmers and local junior high school students. During her service, she photographed the people who she worked and lived with. Each photograph comes with an accompanying story that shares aspect of the culture from her perspective. Through these images and stories, Olivia aims to show the complexities of Ghanaian culture.
