Michael Kinzel is a singer songwriter and a Northern California native. Writing and performing for over two decades, his influences vary from Bob Dylan to Jack Johnson to James Brown. Offering a variety of unique covers and original pieces, his music is both engaging and entertaining.

Stephen has traveled extensively in Latin America and Europe, performing and collecting songs. The music of Brazil and the romantic Spanish-American authors of Nueva Cancion have informed his work, as has the ancient traditions of the French Troubadours, traditional Japanese Danmono-Ryu and poetry, the drummers of West Africa and the Middle East, Appalachian hill songs, the beauty of Lightin’ Hopkins, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Mercedes Sosa, Andres Segovia, and Odetta, strong coffee, and late night conversations with friends.

The Stone House presents Jazz Friday’s Dinner Series featuring Sacramento Jazz Quintet with T. Jackson 6-9pm
The Sacramento Jazz Quartet plays a variety of Jazz including funk, soul, and standards from the rhythm and blues and jazz repertoire. The band features Tim Geach on piano, Charles Ross on tenor and alto sax, David Clouse on drums and is featuring special guest Bill Douglas on Bass. Members have been active in the Northern California Jazz scene and have played in a variety of funk, jazz, fusion, americana, rock, dixieland, gospel and big bands and with many of the top musicians including guitarist Steve Holman, bassist Jerry Pineada, jazz vocalists Shirley Rowoldt, Erin Cordova, and T. Jackson.

The Sierra Four is one of the premier jazz ensembles in Nevada County and features John Girton and Bill Douglass, two of the most esteemed musicians in Nevada County.

Z CABERNET DUO is an instrumental violin-piano duo, known locally for their eclectic sound and repertoire. Musical genres include Jazz, Blues, American standards, grammy-winning songs by Adele, Sheeran, and Maroon 5, and Classic Rock, Country and TV/Movie Themes. Carol ‘Cookie’ Fernandes was a pianist for the NYC Ballet and Daniel ‘Zorro’ Zuckerman has played for a multitude of entertainers such as Liberace, Cher, and the Rat Pack, and is currently a member of the Music in the Mountains orchestra.

Seven course New Year’s Eve dinner with Dinner Show with Valerie V, 6:00 – 9:00pm
The Stone House presents a premier seven course custom meal under the direction of Head Chef Jesse Hanshaw, aided by Sous Chefs Ron Tanaka and Renee Medina.
The showcase menu will include six separate courses plus a desert by Pastry Chef Christine Cain.
The New Year’s Eve extravaganza will also include entertainment by one of Sacramento’s leading Jazz vocalists Valerie V, leading an all-star ensemble that includes Bill Douglas, John Girton, and Chet Chwalik.
