Enjoy our Sunday Brunch Music Series on our Patio! We have Electropical Brunch on the first Sunday, Equatorial Brunch on the 2nd Sunday, Reggae Sundays on the 3rd Sunday and Grateful Sundays on the 4th Sunday of the month. Brunch starts at 11am, and music starts at 12pm.

The Stone House invites you to attend a special Fundraiser Dinner Event benefitting the nonprofit C.H.I.R.P. – California Heritage: Indigenous Research Project, who’s mission is to:
PRESERVE, PROTECT, & PERPETUATE NISENAN CULTURE
THE EVENT INCLUDES:
PRESENTATION: by Shelly Covert, Executive Director of C.H.I.R.P. and Tribal Spokesperson for the Nisenan Nevada City Rancheria. Learn about the history of the Nisenan in this area, where they are now, where they are headed as a tribe, and how you can support.

September 27th 6-9PM Live Music Dinner Series featuring Ananda Vaughan
After extensive immersion in the University of Oregon Jazz Studies program, Ananda Vaughan has gone on to incorporate many other World and American styles into his guitar playing. With over 28 years under his belt on guitar, his music proves both versatile and original. He currently works as a guitar teacher, songwriter, and session player in the Grass Valley area. Inspired by such artists as Paul Simon, Bob Marley, Dave Matthews Band, and Ali Farka Toure, Ananda combines an uplifting message with innovative guitar work. With strong roots in Jazz, Rock, Blues, and Folk traditions, he has created a sound of his own.

Shaky Hand String Band plays their own style of Smokin’ Mountain Grass. Original music ’bout dogs, food, love, drinking, and all of life’s questions. The band plays rippin’ fiddle songs, groovy beats, tight harmonies all the Shaky Hand String Band way.

October 4th 6-9PM The Stone House presents Live Music Dinner Series featuring Steve Holland
Stephen Holland has traveled extensively in Latin America and Europe, performing and collecting songs. The music of Brazil and the romantic Spanish-American authors of Nueva Cancion have informed his work, as has the ancient traditions of the French Troubadours, traditional Japanese Danmono-Ryu and poetry, the drummers of West Africa and the Middle East, Appalachian hill songs, the beauty of Lightin’ Hopkins, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Mercedes Sosa, Andres Segovia, and Odetta, strong coffee, and late night conversations with friends.

In addition to being a local performer, Mojo has began playing up and down the West Coast with his regional band, Achilles Wheel.
With a foundation in blues, Jonny Mojo transcends genres blending rock, folk, fusion, bluegrass, jam band styles and more. What really shines through in a performance is his heart felt passion for music. Although Jonny’s main instrument is the guitar, he also plays harmonica, bottleneck slide and lapsteel guitars, and mandolin.

WinterWonderGrass is beyond thrilled to be returning to Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, CA in March 2019 for our fifth installment of 3 days of skiing, family, festival vibes, community and music.
To kick off the celebration, we’re heading to our place for Caravan to Wondergrass presented by Ikon Pass. We welcome you to join our family Thursday, Oct 11 at The Stone House in Nevada City as we celebrate the lineup announcement of the 5th annual WinterWonderGrass California at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows.
Presented by Ikon Pass the event is free to attend, from 6pm to close, will feature Sierra Nevada specials as well as access to processing fee free 3-day GA festival tickets, merch + ticket giveaways.

Dominic Stepanian is a native of Nevada County, CA and he recently earned a degree in performance guitar from Musicians Institute. His diverse musical upbringing included blues, rock and roll, folk and jazz, which contributed to his unique musical styling. Dominic is developing a following, and is an up and coming musician to the Nevada County music scene.

October 24th 8pm-12am An Evening with Nicola Cruz
The Stone House invites you to join us for an evening of revolutionary musical folklore and dance that is expanding throughout Latin America and the world like wildfire. Guided by producers and musicians open-minded, Ecuador is beginning to experience their own digital folk revolution. A new crop of producers and musicians are using their native traditions and rhythms to build a vibrant history of visual and sound art, firing it into the 21st century and Nicola Cruz is leading the way. We are honored to share this musical magic with Nevada County and beyond. Opening the night is Nevada County’s own Brian Hartman and Migaloo aka Milton Armistead. These two amazing artists have teamed up to create musical soundscapes back to back that represent the peak of electronic world music today. Weaving a tapestry of sound, they will open the dance floor to co-create a night with all of us where tradition and expansion combine for a next level experience.
