Sierra FoodWineArt magazine is circulating its Spring issue and 2019 Travel Guide, promoting Nevada City, Grass Valley and Nevada County — in a free, full-color glossy magazine and two digital editions (an interactive “flip book,” as well as a new “scrollable” format designed for smartphones). The print edition is distributed to Bay Area, Sacramento and Reno readers.
The special edition celebrates food, wine and beer, art and destination travel throughout the Sierra Foothills and High Sierra, ahead of the busy Memorial Day weekend. It also highlights unique dining, shopping and outdoor attractions, with custom maps and directories, and original, news-focused articles, colorful photos and artwork.
“Our region is unique in California as a rural home to two state-designated California Cultural Districts —Grass Valley-Nevada City and Truckee,” the publication observes. “A new study shows that tens of millions of dollars of spending by cultural audiences in Nevada County alone ‘pumps vital revenue into restaurants, hotels, retail stores, and other local businesses.’”
The issue highlights Nevada City businesses including Nevada City Winery, Szabo Vineyards, Lefty’s Grill, Golden Era Lounge, Ike’s Quarter Cafe, ol’ Republic Brewery and Roadhouse, Jernigan’s, Three Forks Bakery & Brewing Co., Wheyward Girl Creamery, the Ham Stand, and LeeAnn Brook Fine Art, among others.
We also write about the Nevada City Farmers Market, the 59th annual Nevada City Bicycle Classic and Brewfest, First Friday ArtWalk, and Sierra Stages’ performances of “Cabaret” and “The Thanksgiving Play” at the Nevada Theatre.
Sierra FoodWineArt is distributed all the way to the Bay Area, Sacramento, Reno, Truckee-Tahoe, Chico and Placerville and points in between. It has the most comprehensive digital edition among our region’s magazines. Owners Jeff and Shannon Pelline are Chamber members and Nevada City residents.
