SCROOGE at the Nevada Theatre, Final Performance December 24th at 2pm

This wonderful musical adaptation of the Dickens classic celebrates its 40th year on stage, and 3rd year in a row at the Nevada Theatre. Written by Rodger Hoopman (who delightfully plays the irascible Ebeneezer Scrooge), and directed by Sue LeGate Halford, SCROOGE is a must see for the Christmas season.

Keeping with LeGacy tradition, the play has some new characters added, new cast members, new costumes and staging. Mixing the new with the “old” vital elements, and many favorite cast members returning, SCROOGE is sure to delight audiences and bring the old fashioned Christmas spirit to beautiful Nevada County.

Returning cast members include Kris Meadows as Fred, a bumbling undertaker, and the Ghost of Christmas Present and Ward Thompson as Jacob Marley and the chief coroner. Also returning, (and in double duty again as choreographer and assistant director) is Dinah Smith as Ghost of Christmas Past and Mrs. Dilber. Beverly Marks is once again musical director. LeGacy veterans also include Kassady Kelly in various roles, and Alexis Phillips as Belle.

Newcomers include Darrel Hovander as the earnest Bob Cratchit and the comic undertaker, Sarah Stone-Francisco as Mrs.Cratchit and Mrs. Fezziwig, Mike Busse as Mr. Fezziwig and Old Joe, Connor Johnson as Young Ebeneezer, and Sparrow Stone-Francisco as Tiny Tim.

Rounding out the multi-talented cast in various roles are Sawyer Maddux, Kathleen Leonard, Celina Williams, Delaney Sherr (on the fiddle too!), and featuring KT Johnson as the Charwoman, and Paul Sciabica inhabiting Christmas Future.

Rodger Hoopman’s fantastic vintage set is once again enhanced by lighting designer Les Solomon, with costumes by Sharon Sciabica (Elly winner for Scrooge 2016).

SCROOGE plays every FRIDAY and SATURDAY at 7:30 pm.
