Random Acts of Kindness Event (RAKE) October 7th

Want to be part of something big in 2017?

Want to make a visible difference in your own community?

Please join Anew Day and Waste Management as we endeavor to regenerate and preserve that which defines the splendor of our historical community. On October 7. 2017 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, hundreds of Nevada County individuals and organizations will serve its citizens through the community-based fourth annual Random Acts of Kindness Event (RAKE).

We have lined up all the resources necessary to produce this third annual community-wide clean up day. Well-known local personalities from the Nevada County region have volunteered their time and energies to lead a group of individuals as they clean local roadways and parks. Spanning from the south end of the County to Nevada City, approximately 30 locations have been identified for community clean-up on the day of the event. Approximately 20 people per project location will sign-up to volunteer under the direction of a designated “team leader.” We will provide the necessary supplies, including safety vests, gloves, trash grabbers and other necessary equipment.

We’re seeking members of the community to join us in our efforts. To participate in the RAKE event and help maintain the beauty for which our community is known, please visit www.therakeevent.com or call Anew day at 530-470-9111. This is a cost-free community event and registration includes a RAKE t-shirt and free BBQ immediately following the event.

All proceeds go to support Anew Day and the cost-free services it offers to the community. Anew Day works to provide a safe environment which enables its clients to face life’s ups and downs. Partnering with their clients, Anew Day counselors folks where they are and with whatever struggle they are facing. Anew Day’s goal is to provide answers, hope, direction, and skills for coping with today’s pain as well as tomorrow’s struggles.

We look forward to your participation!
