Musical Safari – June 26th 5:00 – 7:oo pm
Lions, elephants, wolves… Yukon, Amazon, Africa… adventure by tall ship, caravan, or even dreaming! With the theme “Musical Safari,” this family-friendly outdoor concert will enchant with music depicting animals, locations, and adventure.
The 65-member Nevada County Concert Band always puts on a great show. You’ll hear John William’s movie themes from “Hook,” “Harry Potter,” “E.T.,” and “Indiana Jones.” And we’ll visit Camille Saint-Saens’ “Carnival of the Animals” too. Jerry Foote Scholarship recipient Rebekah Shuholm will perform Leroy Anderson’s “A Trumpeter’s Lullaby.” Three of the band’s ensembles will perform songs about a frog, a crocodile, and a bass (and we’re not talking fish here). Music details are here.
Come to Pioneer Park early to enjoy your picnic dinner on the grass, or treat yourself with goodies from the hot dog or ice cream vendors. Bring your family and friends! Arrive a half-hour early, and we’ll show you how to lead the audience participation moment(s).
Our family-oriented concerts are always free, accessible, and great for all ages. Non-profit donations are accepted.
