NR Vogt Featured Artist at Broad Street Bistro in Jan

N.R. (Nick) Vogt has been selected as the Featured Artist for the month of January at the Broad Street Bistro & Gallery. Folks are invited to come by to enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere, while viewing Vogt’s Exhibit, titled “Paintings of Historical Significance”. Open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, the Broad Street Bistro offers the perfect atmosphere to begin the New Year catching up with a friend over coffee, while checking out the local Art Display that includes many Nevada Country landmark scenes, typical of the Gold Country.

An ARTIST’s RECEPTION will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, where Vogt will be doing a “painting-in-action” of the historic Methodist Church located directly across from the Broad Street Bistro. In addition, during the reception, he is offering a $15 Discount for any Limited-edition Print or Original Painting that is displayed on the Gallery walls.

Artist’s Bio & Information

Meadow Vista Artist, N.R. (Nick) Vogt, who has been painting, drawing, and teaching art for over 45 years, was born in 1950 at Grass Valley, a town which rooted during the California Gold Rush era.  Vogt was one of the founding members of the Pioneer Arts, founded 1965 in Nevada County, and he is currently a member of the Sierra Vista Artists Association, centered in Colfax, California.  At age 10, he began drawing and painting historical buildings and landmarks in California’s Gold Country.  During his high school years, he began selling his paintings and teaching adult art classes in the evenings to help pay for his college education, earning university degrees in both Art and English.

Vogt’s Art has been distributed cross-culturally, including Russia, New Zealand, and the Philippines.  His most known works include vibrant, bold watercolor paintings of Northern California historic landmarks such as the Auburn Court House, the Bridgeport Covered Bridge, the Empire Mine Mansion, and other Nevada County and Placer County scenes.  Recipients of his paintings and art prints also receive a Certificate of Authenticity that includes a “short story” historical background of the scene, authored by the artist.

During the Artist’s Reception, Vogt will have both original paintings and limited edition prints of his paintings on display for purchase.   Northern California residents may commission Vogt to do an original painting of one of their favorite historical landmarks.   Both his Original Paintings and signed, Limited-Edition Prints of the originals may also be purchased at most exhibitions and from his website –   He may be contacted at (530) 878-0697 or
