A Wine, Food, and Historical Experience

Nevada City Uncorked Announces New Venues

Saturday, August 27, 2016 1:00 – 4:00 pm
Nevada City Uncorked, a celebration of wine and food, takes place on August 27 in downtown Nevada City. Nevada City’s small-town Victorian charm is the perfect backdrop to showcase Nevada City Uncorked. Uncorked, a celebration of wine and food, is a walk-about-town style format featuring 20 venues throughout the downtown area.

Nevada City Uncorked opens the doors to unique, historic, and hidden spots around town. Each venue, whether it is B&B or Inn, art gallery, retail shop, restaurant, winery, or brewery will include wine or beer tasting and food sampling.

This year Uncorked is happy to announce three new venues, two art galleries and the iconic Stonehouse to the list of this year’s venues.

LeeAnn Brook Fine Art Gallery (www.leeannbrookfineart.com) is located at the corner of Spring and Pine Streets. It is an artist-owned gallery and working studio featuring contemporary paintings by LeeAnn Brook, sculpted wood vessels by Mike Snegg, ceramics, hand blown glass, sculpture and jewelry, in a curated setting with Japanese antiques. During Uncorked the gallery will host Nevada City’s newest winery, Woodcut Winery.

The Alexander Gallery (www.thealexandergallery.net), located at 225 Broad Street, exhibits a selection of contemporary art from well-established artists, sourced locally, regionally, and from across the country. Their historic 1870’s building is a perfect backdrop for a modern interior featuring contemporary art in a welcoming artistic environment. During Uncorked The Alexander Gallery will host Bent Metal Winery pouring their award winning wines. Caramelized Catering will be offering their delicious foods.

The addition of The Stonehouse, located at the base of Broad Street, continues to vitalize the old plaza. The Stonehouse, with it’s amazing historical charm, joins Lefty’s Restaurant and the cool and shady back deck of Century 21 Reality as venues making the Plaza the go-to place during Uncorked this year.

Now under new ownership, The Stone House provides an exceptional venue and dining experience that delivers a beautiful setting for weddings, conferences, gatherings, and music. Enjoy handcrafted cocktails, small bites, brunch, dinner or just stop in for an espresso!
