A Celebration Of Wine And Food With A Historic Flavor
Nevada City Chamber of Commerce presents:
Nevada City Uncorked August 25, 2018 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Nevada City’s charming Victorian elegance provides the perfect backdrop to showcase Uncorked, a sip-and-stroll event that includes 16 venues featuring local food purveyors and regional wineries.
A Tapestry of Quaint and Curious
Nevada City is a tapestry of quaint, curious and unique spots to explore. Each venue, whether it’s an historic location, inn, art gallery, restaurant, winery, shop, or hidden corner will include wine tasting and food sampling. Participating Venues 2018
Wines From the Northern Frontier
Uncorked is proud to showcase the wines of the north Sierra Foothills. We fondly refer to it as “wines from the northern frontier”, the best, least-discovered wine region in California. This year Uncorked features wineries from Placer, Nevada, Yuba, Butte, and Tehama Counties creating a unique gateway to the wines from the north country. Participating Wineries 2018
A Smorgasbord of Flavor
Uncorked offers a smorgasbord of flavor. 16 restaurants, caterers, and specialty shops as diverse as a salumeria, a cheesemaker, and a chocolatier will offer an array of tasty bites and signature flavors. Uncorked encourages a connection, as much as possible, between local farms and participating food purveyors. Food Purveyor List 2018
The Uncorked Wine Store
The store features some of the wines poured around town that day, including some new releases that many have never been available before. Purchase wines directly from participating wineries. Then pick the wines up at the Nevada City Veteran’s Building (the check-in center) after the event.

Purchase raffle tickets to win Nevada City Vacation Packages Prizes including a night at The Two Room Inn or a gift certificate to Friar Tucks.
“Meet The Winemaker” Reception at Nevada City Winery, Friday, August 24th
This year we are planning a “Meet The Winemaker ” party the evening before Uncorked, on Friday August 24th at Nevada City Winery from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Just to be clear, this is not a wine tasting event. That is for the next day. Of course, there will be wine available from Nevada City Winery, like usual, by the glass or bottle. This is an opportunity to meet a few winemakers in a casual, informal setting. Open to the public, there is no charge to attend the reception. If you think you will attend the reception be sure to check the box on the online ticket form.
“Conversations with a Winemaker” In The Barrel Room
Join an intimate, unscripted conversation with three of our best local winemakers in the Nevada City Winery barrel room at 4:00 p.m. Friday August 24th. Winemakers Mark Henry from Montoliva, Jackson Starr from Sierra Starr and the dean of Nevada County winemakers, Mark Foster from Nevada City Winery, will sit on the panel that will be moderated by Rod Byers. The topic for discussion will focus on the future of winemaking in our region and the need, or not, for a flagship varietal.
For that you will need a ticket. The event is free but you will need a ticket to get into the barrel room. The only way to get a ticket is to purchase your tickets to Nevada City Uncorked. Tickets are limited. They will be available until they are not. If you think you will attend the reception or want tickets to the Barrel Room be sure to check the boxes on the online ticket form.
Nevada City Uncorked is sponsored by the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 on the day of the event. The best insider deal is the $30 ticket for Wine Club members. Wine Club members of any of the participating wineries should contact their respective wineries directly to grab those. Purchase Tickets
Each Uncorked ticket includes a commemorative wine glass sponsored by Nevada City Winery, plus five food tickets. Additional food tickets are available for 2/$5 or 5/$10.
