LeeAnn Brook Fine Art on Open Studios Tour
After painting for over 25 years and running a popular gallery for nearly 5 years in downtown Nevada City, LeeAnn Brook will open her home studio on this month’s Open Studios tour in Nevada City on October 10, 11 and 17 & 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brook closed her gallery, LeeAnn Brook Fine Art, in downtown Nevada City in March due to the pandemic, and moved to her home studio, also in Nevada City. Her show this year will feature over ten new paintings that Brook created since her move. A complete guide with maps of the tour can be found at www.openstudiostour.org.
Known for her large format contemporary landscape paintings, her new series was inspired by the range of color and textures found in the rugged Sierra Nevada mountain range. The mixed media paintings are richly textured using a new technique that Brook developed, and explore a new color palette that brightens the soul.
Brook’s work is collected by commercial and residential clients across the country. She recently completed a commission of three large paintings for U. C. Davis Medical Center that will be featured in a new facility in Roseville this Fall. A recipient of the Dr. Leland and Sally Lewis Visual Artist award from the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce in 2015, she now meets with interested collectors on an appointment-only basis and spends more focused time painting.
