Final Week of Volunteer Sign-Ups and Orientation For Local State Parks

 VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP AND ORIENTATION

EMPIRE MINE STATE HISTORIC PARK – DOCENT BUILDING (IN THE MINE YARD)

MARCH 11, 9:00am – 3:30pm

Don’t miss the final sign-up and orientation session for the current phase of prospective volunteer recruitment this coming Saturday, March 11 from 9:00am – 3:30pm at Empire Mine State Historic Park – Docent Room.

The Volunteer Sign-Ups are for the three Sierra Gold Sector State Parks which include South Yuba River State Park, Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park and Empire Mine State Historic Park.

The session will cover what a “Volunteer Means to California State Parks” and discussing park policies, procedures and philosophy. We will, as a group, be guided through the hiring paperwork and discuss the benefits of being a State Park volunteer. Since a criminal background check is required prior to working as a State Park volunteer, there will be onsite finger printing “live scan” being conducted during the Saturday sessions. Individuals will need to bring to the sign-up a photo ID and $10 check or cash for the background processing.

Please join us to begin a fulfilling experience as a volunteer for our beautiful state parks. As a volunteer, you will become a vital entity in helping keep our state parks alive and well. This session is very informative, interesting, enlightening and fun!!
