BIG talent in a very small package.  Sylviane Giacoletto, Oil paint artist at Art Works Gallery was born and raised in Albertville, France. Sylviane was 10 years old the first time her father took her to Le Louvre Museum in Paris. “I will always cherish the memory of traveling from a little town in the Alps to the City Of Arts. I was lost in feelings of admiration, and I still vividly remember the colors and the smell of oil painting”.

Many years later, Sylviane took her first painting class which gave birth to the artist in her. She became an art instructor in 2000 and managed her own studio in France. She taught Tole painting and faux finishes techniques for nearly 10 years. Sylviane moved to California in 2006, when she discovered the richness of luminous oil colors that gave her the look she was seeking for in her landscapes, and in 2012 she was juried into Art Works Gallery for her stunning Oil Paintings.

When the opportunity arose to fill a 3D artist space at the Gallery, Sylviane was delighted to bring in a selection of the vintage Tole art pieces she created years ago in her beloved France. She can transform small furniture, mirrors, lamps and boxes into unique heirlooms using a multitude of techniques.  Sylviane is in our 2nd Saturday Spotlight on March 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m, and she will demonstrate some of these techniques on a painting in progress.
