Nevada City has a rich tradition in the performing arts. In fact, few towns of our size would boast the quantity and quality of the performing arts here.
The Foothill Theatre Company is a professional company that performs mainly in the Nevada Theatre and also at Grass Valley's Off Center Stage.
Off Broadstreet is a "live cabaret" wine and dessert theatre in Nevada City that offers offers lively and humorous musical productions. Sierra Stages, Community Asian Theater of the Sierra (CATS) and other companies also perform locally.

Whatever your choice in film, it's likely you'll find it in the theaters of Nevada City and Grass Valley.
Sierra Cinemas offers multiple screen choices and the latest releases at three locations; Sierra Cinemas on East Main Street, Sutton Cinemas on Sutton Way and the Del Oro Theatre on MIll Street in downtown Grass Valley.
In Nevada City, Roundtrip Productions offers a popular Sunday night film series (and some weekends) at the Nevada Theatre featuring box office hits, foreign films and more.
Nevada City is also home to The Magic Theatre, a smaller venue on Argall Way that screens a wide variety of foreign and domestic films.
