Windows on History Exhibit in Historic Nevada City, California • The entire month of October

Windows on History is an exhibit of 47 mural-size historical photographs of Nevada City from 1850 to 1920 with accompanying stories.

These large scale historical photos will be placed in windows throughout downtown at locations where they were originally taken. This unique concept invites the viewer to celebrate life in Nevada City through these powerful photographic streetscapes that contrasts the historic past with the dynamic present. KVMR Celtic Festival • October 2-3rd
The 14th Annual KVMR Celtic Festival offers two days of wonderful entertainment and education bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds in a magical setting of music, dance, sports, history and culture. Nevada County Fairgrounds, 11228 McCourtney Rd., GV. 10am to 10pm Saturday; 10am to 8pm Sunday. Adult tickets are $38-$58, teens and children $15- $17 (festival only pricing).

Don't forget our great Farmer's Markets
The Farmer’s Market in downtown Nevada City happens every Saturday from 8:30 a.m.– 12:30 p.m. through October 30th, and features fresh seasonal produce & flowers, live music, educational demonstrations and great food. Also, every Tuesday there’s the Nevada County Certified Grower’s Market at the Sierra Presbyterian Church (175 Ridge Road at Nevada City Highway, Nevada City). The Tuesday market takes place from 3:00 p.m. til 6:00 p.m. through October.

Friends of the Library Book Sale • October 2nd

Day of the Young Child • September 25th

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Sierra College Campus in Grass Valley. This event is specially designed to showcase events and services for children 0-8 years old. Be sure to visit the First 5 Nevada County Booth! We have special activities for the little ones, and will be offering low cost Pertussis (whooping cough) vaccines for adult caregivers of young children, provided by Public Health.
