Artisans Festival at Miners Foundry
Since 1993, The Artisans Festival has been a Nevada City Thanksgiving Weekend Tradition. The Festival features fine arts and crafts in a festive, historic setting. Live music, great food, and drink are also included. Your $3 admission supports Miners Foundry Cultural Center. The Miners Foundry is located at 325 Spring Street and the Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. November 26, 27, and 28th. Kids under 16 welcome free of charge. Craft Faire & Sandwiche Shoppe at the Nevada City Methodist Church
The Faire is open Friday and Saturday, November 26th and 27th from 10 a.m. til 4 p.m. and Sunday, November 28th from noon til 4 p.m. The Faire features beautiful hand crafted gifts for all ages, as well as delicious homemade soup, sandwiches and pies, coffee and hot spiced cider. Tiny Tims

Enjoy a holiday show in Nevada City
“Tiny Tim's Christmas” at the historic Nevada Theatre will be staged from November 26 to December 26 by Legacy Productions. This delightful story of Tiny Tim Cratchit, all grown up in New York City features the talents of 20 local actors, singers, and dancers, directed by Judy Blake and choreographed by Terry Ann Ferguson. “Tiny Tim's Christmas” is a sure bet for the entire family and plays Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., Thursdays December 16th and 23rd at 7 p.m., Sundays December 5, 12, 19 & 26 at 2 p.m. with a special Christmas Eve Matinee on Friday December 24th at 2 p.m. There is no show Christmas day.

Victorian Christmas

Make your plans for Victorian Christmas in Nevada City
Join in the fun – Victorian Christmas is a special event where celebrants in costume walk the streets. The air is filled with the delicious smells of outdoor fare from friendly hawkers and the sounds of the season from Victorian singers, bagpipers, and other musicians. Broad Street is lined with vendors and goods and food are also available from downtown restaurants and specialty shops. A living nativity scene, Santa Claus, and the taste of chestnuts roasted on an open fire are among Victorian Christmas’ many attractions.

Victorian Christmas 2010 is featured Wednesday nights, Dec. 1, 8, and 15, from 5-9 p.m., and on two Sunday afternoons, Dec. 12 and Dec. 19, from 1:30-6 p.m. There is no admission charge. More Information

Open House during Victorian Christmas at the United Methodist Church
When you’re at Victorian Christmas, stop by the Open House at the United Methodist Church at the top of Broad Street. Open Dec. 1, 8, and 15th from 5-9 p.m. and Dec. 12 and 19th from Noon-5 p.m., the Open House features a craft fair, cookies, hot chocolate, Santa Claus, and choir performances in the Fellowship Hall. The Christmas Card

“The Christmas Card” movie filmed in Nevada City to air on Hallmark Channel
“The Christmas Card,” filmed in Nevada City, stars Asner, John Newton, Alice Evans, Peter Jason and Lois Nettleton. It tells the story of a soldier (Newton) with no family who, while serving in Afghanistan, receives an anonymous holiday card that touches him deeply. Upon returning to the United States, he seeks out the person who sent him the card (Evans), only to fall in love with her and be accepted by her family, including her former-soldier father Luke (Asner). 2010 showtimes on the Hallmark channel are December 1, 10, 11, 25, 26, and 31, check local listings for times. It's a Wonderful Life

This Wonderful Life holiday shows in Grass Valley
Actor Gary Wright returns to the Nevada County stage in a one man show, “This Wonderful Life” directed by Greg Alexander, at the Off Center Stage in Grass Valley. “This Wonderful Life” written by Steve Murray, is a funny, poignant, fast moving retrospective of the story from the  holiday classic film “It's A Wonderful Life”. Wright, who has delighted audiences for the Foothill Theatre Company, among countless others, takes a turn at bringing all the lovable characters to life, and the show is sure to be a family favorite!

“This Wonderful Life” shows Thursdays 7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 8 p.m., Sundays 2 p.m., December 3rd through the 19th. The Off Center Stage is located directly behind the Center for The Arts, 315 Richardson Street.

Grass Valley Center Stage Dance Studio is proud to present their 2010 production of The Nutcracker December 3rd, 4th, and 5th. FREE Winter Concert by The Nevada County Concert Band
Nevada County Concert Band’s “Winter Concert” will be Sunday, December 5th. The 50-piece Nevada County Concert Band will perform an indoor winter concert that everyone can enjoy from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm. at the First Baptist Church in Grass Valley.
