2010 Nevada City Farmer's Market

The first 2010 Nevada City Farmer’s Market is going to take place downtown starting at 8:30 a.m. this Saturday. In addition to farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, there will be interesting vendors, artists, and live music. For more information, visit ncfarmersmarket.org.

Nevada City Fire Department's 150th Anniversary

On this Saturday, the 19th, there will be a community celebration for the Nevada City Fire Department's 150th anniversary. At 11:00 a.m. there will be a procession of vintage and modern fire fighting equipment down Broad Street, and from noon on there will be an ongoing event at the Eric Rood Center, 950 Maidu Avenue. 50th Anniversary of the Nevada City Bicycle Classic

On Father’s Day, Sunday, June 20th, Nevada City is looking forward to the 50th Anniversary of the Nevada City Bicycle Classic. This race is one of the premiere sporting events in the Sierra foothills, the largest and oldest bike race on the West Coast, and the second-oldest race in the nation.

Senior and professional riders representing top U.S. cycling teams are expected to race in the men’s 90-minute main event. Women’s, Junior’s and Master’s races also are planned. Action begins at 1 p.m. and is usually complete by about 6:30 p.m. For more information, visit ncclassic.com.

Hawaiian Getaway Raffle

The winning ticket for the Hawaiian Getaway Raffle will be pulled at the Nevada City Bicycle Classic on Sunday, June 20th. Only a limited number of tickets have been printed and sold, so don’t miss out. Proceeds benefit the Nevada City Chamber Bike Races and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Center.

Join us for the Fourth!

A colorful parade through historic downtown Nevada City and the Sierra foothills’ largest aerial fireworks display top the 2010 Fourth of July celebration in Nevada County.

The classic hometown parade begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 4th, in downtown Nevada City. More than 100 entries and several thousand spectators are expected. The festive parade begins at the top of Broad Street and moves through the center of the downtown historic district.
