Watsonville Band Performs
in Nevada City Sept. 13-14
The famed Watsonville Band will perform an outdoor concert in historic Nevada City on Saturday evening and march in Sunday's 42nd Annual Constitution Day Parade.
The Monterey County-based band has a rich history dating back to 1920 and has performed for President Clinton and Pope John Paul II. The band performed previously in Nevada City in 1998.
The band will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. Saturday on North Pine Street between Broad and Commercial streets in the heart of Nevada City's downtown historic district. Visitors should bring lawn chairs and arrive early to get a good location.
On Sunday, the band will march in the annual Constitution Day Parade, which moves down Broad Street beginning at 2 p.m. The parade features nearly 100 entries, including grand marshal Garrett Reisman, a NASA astronaut who has walked in space.
