Bike Race Puts NC on the Map
One of the oldest and best known bicycling events in the U.S. continues to attract national and international publicity for Nevada City.
A two-page color spread on this year's Nevada City Bicycle Classic is featured in the September issue of ROAD The Journal of Road Cycling and Culture, a major cycling industry publication.
"The article was printed in both the U.S. and European editions of the magazine," said race director Duane Strawser. "Nevada City is very well known in the cycling world. We're being covered right up there with all the big European events."
The event also received significant coverage on cyclingnews.com, a leading industry website, Strawser noted.
The Nevada City Bicycle Classic, held every Father's Day, draws world-class cyclists to the Sierra foothills. Next year's 48th annual event is scheduled for Sunday, June 16, 2008.
