Lance Armstrong Rides in Nevada City
World renowned American cyclists Lance Armstrong, Levi Leipheimer and Chris Horner are in the field Sunday (June 21) for the 49th Annual Nevada City Bicycle Classic, the most exciting one-day cycling competition in the nation.
Armstrong, one of the world’s best known athletes, is a seven time winner of international cycling’s biggest event, the Tour de France. Lance Armstrong returns to Nevada City after racing but not taking the crown here in the early 90s.
Be part of the spectacle as world class racers compete on a 1.1-mile lap course through historic downtown NC. Cheer as racers sprint down Broad Street at speeds that can exceed 50 mph.!
Racing action begins at 1 p.m. with the 90-minute timed main event slated for 5 p.m. Come out and see Lance and his fellow riders. It’s free. It’s Father’s Day in Nevada City. Bring Dad. He’ll love it.
