Nevada City is One of 1,000 Places
Is Nevada City worth a visit?
It certainly is and so are 999 other places, according to Patricia Schultz, author of the New York Times No. 1 bestseller “1,000 Places to See Before You Die.”
Schultz lists Nevada City predominantly among California Gold Country destinations in her newly-released book “1,000 Places to See in the USA and Canada Before You Die”
“Nevada City is perhaps the most interesting of the Mother Lode towns,” Schultz writes, “with a compact downtown that looks like a timeworn set from a Wild West movie.”
The Nevada Theatre, Emma Nevada House, Yuba River and the South Yuba River Citizens League Wild & Scenic Film Festival also earn mentions in the book.
“We think Nevada City is a great place to visit and it's nice to know that others do, too,” said Cathy Whittlesey, executive manager of the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce. Whittlesey said the chamber regularly provides information and photos to travel industry writers and publishers.
The new book is available from local book stores.
