Discover Museums of Grass Valley & Nevada City FREE on May 19th, 2007.
Five of Nevada County's leading museums have joined together to host Nevada County Museum Discovery Day on Saturday, May 19. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All five museums will offer free admission to all guests on Museum Discovery Day and special prizes will be available for youngsters who answer written questions about the museums they visit.
The museums of Grass Valley and Nevada City offer a range of historical exhibits covering subjects from the Gold Rush to the Victorian Age, the Donner Party, early California railroading, Native American and California Chinese history and more.
Museums taking part in the sixth annual family event include:

Grass Valley: Grass Valley Museum and the North Star Powerhouse, Mining and Pelton Wheel Museum.

Nevada City: Firehouse No. 1 Museum, Imaginarium of Nevada County and the county's newest museum, the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum.
Museum Discovery Day is sponsored by the participating museums, the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools and the Joint Chambers of Commerce of Nevada County.
