Local Celebrities in NC's
‘Fabulous 50s' Mardi Gras.

Local celebrities will lead the fun on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 17-18, as Nevada City hosts its “Fabulous Fifties” Mardi Gras celebration.
Pat Butler, former editor of The Union, and Stacy Drake Butler, former vice president of the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce, have been named King and Queen of Mardi Gras.
This year's Grand Marshal is local artist and all-around fun guy David Parker, who will be accompanied by his General Doo Dah's Mardi Gras Kazoo Band.
The KNCO-AM 830 morning radio team of Tom Fitzsimmons and Rita Stevens are this year's Grand Duke and Grand Duchess.
The celebrity guests are scheduled to be present at Saturday night's (Feb. 17) Cajun Dinner and Masquerade Ball and in Sunday's (Feb. 18) Mardi Gras Parade, which kicks off at 2 p.m., rain or shine.
