Mardi Gras Parade Invites Entries
You can be a part of Nevada City's “Pirates Quest for Gold” Mardi Gras Parade on Sunday, Feb. 22.
The Nevada City Chamber of Commerce is now inviting entries for the lively midwinter celebration.
Marching units, floats, equestrians, vehicles, bands, other groups and individuals may enter the parade. The popular Ophir Prison Marching Kazoo Band will be present this year. The parade begins at 2 p.m. at the top of Broad Street.
The parade caps a two-day (Feb. 21-22) Mardi Gras celebration in historic downtown Nevada City. The Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball (just $10 per person in advance) will be held at Miners Foundry on Saturday night.
