Nevada City Winery Announces Label Contest

October 5, 2012

Nevada City Winery announces a contest for their next specialty wine label. The art will be featured on the label for the Winery’s “Bottle Your Own” holiday wine event on November 17.

Nevada City Winery has a long tradition of creating specialty labels for unique wines or events. Many will remember the commemorative label created for the City of Nevada City’s 150th anniversary last year.

RULES & GUIDELINES
Entrees must be an original piece of artwork or photography. Label specs can be picked up at Nevada City Winery, 321 Spring St. in downtown Nevada City or requested by email at info@ncwinery.com.  Entrees must be submitted as a hi-res digital image (300dpi or better) by Monday, October 8th to info@ncwinery.com. Submissions are open to artists living in and outside of Nevada County. The artist whose art is selected will receive a commemorative poster of the label and case of the Holiday wine signed by both Winemaker Mark Foster and the artist.

ABOUT NEVADA CITY WINERY
More than a few small wineries have started in a garage, but we may be the only Winery to begin that way, move on to bigger and better quarters, and still be in a garage. Founded in 1980 in a small garage on the outskirts of town, in 1982 the Winery moved to its present location, the historic Miners Foundry Garage, on Spring St in downtown Nevada City. Remarkably, the Winery is located less than two blocks from where the original Nevada City Winery stood over a century ago.

We are extremely proud of our role in revitalizing the wine industry in Nevada County. Over the years Nevada City Winery has been recognized with numerous awards, including Best Zinfandel, Best Cabernet Franc, Best Syrah and Best Cabernet Sauvignon for the Sierra Foothill Region, awarded by the California State Fair.
