The tour begins on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 11:45 a.m. on lower Broad Street. The racers will ride up Broad Street and do a 1 mile parade lap around downtown Nevada City, then cross the Pine Street bridge on the way to Grass Valley.

Seven-time Tour de France champion (and 2009 NC Classic winner) Lance Armstrong, defending Tour of California champion Levi Leipheimer and a host of top American and international cyclists will compete for the crown.

Bike Blast
A cycling celebration including a 7.5 mile family ride, a 16 mile road ride and a 33 mile road ride, a bike rodeo, a trials course, bike repair and tuneup, music, kids entertainment, silent auction, food, and drinks. A fundraiser for the Nevada City Schools Foundation. more info

Gold Country Book Fair at the Fairgrounds

Saturday, May 15, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Cost is $5. more info

Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours

Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours are putting on a benefit concert for DVSAC on Saturday, May 15th, the evening before the Amgen race. The event is at the Grass Valley Vet’s Building. 7pm. No-host bar, live auction at intermission.
