Still Accepting 4th Parade Entries

June 21, 2011

The Grass Valley Downtown Association is seeking float entries for this year’s “Active Liberty” 4th of July Parade! We are particularly interested in local school bands willing to participate in the parade. The parade will be in downtown Grass Valley this year and festivities will continue at the Nevada County Fairgrounds with live entertainment starting at 4:30 PM with a break for a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30

This year’s entertainment feature is the Chillbillies, plus Special Guests, Bob Villwock , Lorraine Gervais, Kate Haight, Peter Wilson and the Tommyknocker Cloggers. There will be Swing Dancing on the Green with disc jockey Ed Larson. A ton of kids’ activities with bounce houses, go karts, face painting, Nevada County Makes with kids making all sorts of different crafts.

Tess’s Kitchen Store has donated a Big Green Egg BBQ that you can enter to win at Thursday Night Markets this month. Tickets are $5 and will help to offset the cost of this year’s 4th of July Celebration!
