Build A Shelter Day May 14th
Hospitality House, our homeless shelter in Grass Valley, is acquiring a building where they can offer year-round shelter, on-site meals and services to their guests. The building will be known as “Utah ’s Place” in honor of their beloved cofounder, the late Utah Phillips. Utah was an ardent advocate for the rights of homeless people. Utah, who was once homeless himself, felt a responsibility to help those in need.
Hospitality House is holding a “Build a Shelter Day” benefit in downtown Grass Valley at the Holiday Inn Express on May 14, 2011 to raise funds to complete the necessary renovations. They need support from all those willing to roll up their sleeves and go to work.
They are asking local businesses, community groups of any kind, faith communities, contractors, clubs and anyone wanting to participate in this worthy community effort to participate in their benefit on May 14th.
