Robert Burns Dinner & Concert, Jan. 22
The Gold Country Celtic Society will be hosting its 20th annual Robert Burns Celebration—Dinner and Ceilidh(Party). Once again, our celebration will take place at the historic Miners Foundry in the richly decorated, castle-like setting of the Stone Hall.
As always, we will be serving a traditional Robert Burns dinner, complete with all the pageantry: Piping in of the Haggis, the Address to the Haggis, A Toast to the Lassies, and an ode to the immortal memory of Robert Burns. A wee dram of whiskey will accompany the many toasts of the evening, toasts to the wonderful traditions of Scotland. This is a special event, so we do request appropriate attire, Scottish formal evening wear for example.
Please come to the before-dinner social hour and enjoy the many offerings of our Brigadoon Arms Pub, sample an excellent single-malt Scots whiskey, or perhaps a glass of wine from local Nevada County vintners. The evening begins with a 4 o’clock social hour, followed by 5:30 dinner seating. At 6 o’clock, Hanford’s Catering will treat diners to a savory multi-course feast. After dinner, the Golden Bough Trio will entertain guests with their extensive repetoire of Celtic music.
